We’re excited to announce that the Streatham Business Awards is back this year on November 8th, 2022.
We will be celebrating the best of Streatham business at our exclusive awards ceremony at The Odeon, 47-49 Streatham High Road. A drinks and canape reception will be followed by the awards presentation with the evening hosted by Streatham’s own comedian, actor and current star of Hollyoaks, Richard Blackwood.
Our independent judging panel will be looking for businesses that make a positive difference to Streatham and the people that live here, as well as showing good business sense. InStreatham BID Manager, Louise Abbotts, commented: “We last ran the Streatham Business Awards in 2018 so we’re delighted to bring them back after the pandemic. We think it’s particularly important to recognise businesses that have worked hard to survive during Covid so we have introduced a special one off category for this. Streatham’s businesses make it a unique and special place. Times are tough and we can’t wait for Streatham’s businesses to come together and celebrate their achievements.”
The award categories are as follows:
1. The Best Newcomer
An award for a business that has started trading in Streatham since the last Streatham Business Awards in November 2018.
2. The Best Small Business
This award is for freelancers, homeworkers, and small businesses without a physical shopfront on a main shopping road
3. The Best Place to Eat & Drink
For cafes, take-aways, pubs, bars and restaurants
4. The Best Independent Shop
5. The Most Sustainable Business
6. The Best Business Front or Interior
7. The Best Customer Service
This award is voted for by the Public. You don’t need to do anything for this one, except encourage your customers to vote for you!
8. The Covid Recovery Award
For a business that has shown real initiative and creatively solved challenges associated with the pandemic
9. The Streatham Business of the Year
The winner of this category will be selected by the judges from all category entries.
10. The Spirit of Streatham Award
For a business that has been operating in Streatham for at least five years and has embraced community spirit, such as getting involved in local festivals and events, fundraising for local causes or simply going out of their way to help out the community
