We are proud to announce we have been awarded funding from Transport For London’s Healthy Streets Fund for Business to help set up an electric Cargo Bike scheme which will allow for a shared pool bike for local deliveries. The scheme will be available to all local businesses and will be booked online through an app.

Our Clean Air Villages Case Study!

We’ve collaborated with Balfe Bikes to run the shared Electric Cargo Bike Service for local businesses in Streatham.

The shared cargo bike scheme will offer businesses a choice for making local deliveries and hopefully influence the ways in which customers travel to the High Road to make bulk purchases.”

Independents’ Day is a national campaign to celebrate, support and promote the UK’s independent retailers on 4th July. It runs annually throughout July to highlight the important role small, local independent retailers play in the communities they serve.

Independent businesses account for approximately 65% of the 290,000 businesses in the UK. It’s no secret that shoppers want diversity in their High Streets and retailers that give their towns a distinct character and service. That’s what makes Streatham a unique high street, it is the home of independents – 70% of all the businesses trading in Streatham are independents, so our businesses are at the heart of our local community.

Independent retailers offer choice, tradition as well as innovation, and a more personal service to customers. They are job creators and contributors to local and national economies. They keep your high street alive, diverse, and interesting and with retail spending under pressure, never have they needed our support more.

Whilst the campaign runs for just a month, the vision is to help change consumer habits for the long term, creating more sustainable towns and communities. Every pound spent in a local retailer selling local things, puts twice as much money back into the local economy as a pound spent in a national multiple – because local traders tend to use local services supplied by other local traders. The outcome will be a positive boost for the local economy and the community.⠀

We had up to 80 families take to the high street to claim their prize. The trail went on over 2 weeks, during half term – 5^th April to 21^st.

Children were invited to search for 12 eggs hidden in twelve participating shop windows.

Once they had discovered all eggs, they were rewarded a chocolatey treat at the end of the trail which ended at Batch & Co, Jen said: “We must have given out nearly 100 Easter eggs. From the feedback we got both from families and businesses, this year’s event went really well!”

We hope to carry out more trails and high street events this year to keep people using their high street.

We’re supporting another strong line-up of festivals this summer.
