Have your say on proposals to change the parking charges for residents, visitors and traders, based on the emissions produced by vehicles.
Lambeth Council is proposing to increase the number of parking charging bands from 6 to 13. This will mean the vehicles that cause the most emissions also pay the most for parking, bringing charges in line with Vehicle Excise Duty.
This will affect all resident Parking Permits for car parks and on-street parking and would be brought in alongside proposed increases to the diesel surcharge, Traders’ and Visitors Vouchers.
The statutory consultation will close on Friday 10 March. If a decision is taken to proceed with the proposal, it is likely to be put in place in May 2023.
The proposal aims to:
- Reduce parking pressures
- Relieve congestion
- Improve air quality
- Tackle climate change in the borough
