InStreatham Business Improvement District is proud to host a bumper Christmas celebration coming your way! Join us on Saturday 5 December for our ‘LightsOn!Streatham’ event when we switch on the Christmas lights in Streatham, celebrate Small Business Saturday and say a big hello to Santa in his grotto!
Babington Plaza will be brimming with activities from 10.00am – 5.00pm including live music from Nostalgia Steel Pans and local choirs. There’s face painting, stilt walkers and festive storytelling from Nikki Woollard and Winston Nzinga and a magical lantern parade which arrives at 4. Plus our regular Streatham Market promises a feast of food and craft stalls to delve into.
Post your letter and have your photo taken with Santa in his magical grotto at The Manor Arms between 12.00pm-4.00pm Enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a warm mince pie!
If you’d like to make your own lantern and join the parade head to Blossoms Jungle Gym near Streatham Hill Station between 11.00am-3.00pm. Parade leaves there at 3.15pm joined by local choirs and marches down the High Road to reach Babington Plaza at 4pm for the start of the lights switch on ceremony joined by our very own Chuka Umunna MP, the Mayor of Lambeth and the very special Sandy & Sandra from Channel 4’s Gogglebox!
There will be special offers in many of the small businesses on the high road to tie in with small business Saturday and the winner of the best Streatham Shop Front Christmas Lights display will be announced too.
So why go anywhere else this Christmas? Keep it local – Shop InStreatham!
