Designed to help business owners get their questions answered by high-level decision makers
In 2019, we hosted a High Street Summit chaired by MP Chuka Umunna and a panel of national and local speakers
The event explored the impact that Brexit has had and will have on issues such as employment and residential status with Keynote speakers from Lambeth Council, the Met Police and the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP). They discussed the importance of businesses remaining steadfast and ambitious during a period of significant change and how we can work together in future proofing our High Street,
The Summit was a hugely valuable event that allowed businesses to raise their concerns about Brexit, security, crime, national business policy, and the health of the local economy. The Summit heard from businesses hit by the Brexit uncertainty; the weakened pound, grappling with potential disruption to imports, and from those reliant on European citizens as staff.
Great ideas were shared, including how we can use the new Ultra Low Emission Zones in central London to lead the way in electric vehicle charging to encourage visitors to our High Road.
