The InStreatham Business Improvement District (BID) supports businesses and improves our high road by delivering projects, promoting the area and working with partners.
Who We Are
Streatham BID (InStreatham) is a Business Improvement District representing over 500 local businesses. We work to create a safer, cleaner, more vibrant Streatham through projects that support business growth, improve our high street, and strengthen the local economy.
How We’re Structured & Funded
- The BID is funded through a mandatory levy paid by businesses within the BID boundary.
- We also attract additional grant and partner funding to deliver projects that benefit the business community.
- The BID is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of levy paying business owners and representatives from sectors such as retail, hospitality, professional services, leisure, and community organisations.
- The Board provides strategic leadership, oversees BID spending, and ensures the organisation is run responsibly and in the interests of levy payers.
- A professional BID Team, led by the BID Manager, delivers the day to day operations and projects.
Our Governance Approach
We follow best practice BID governance standards, including:
- transparent decision making
- financial oversight
- Conflict of interest processes
- annual reporting to levy payers
- regular monitoring of project delivery

Who we need
We welcome nominations from business owners, retailers, service providers, property owners or community organisations with a stake in Streatham. If you care about:

Time commitment
Attending around 6 to 9 board meetings per year, plus some optional sub group work.
