Enjoy a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate and a mince pie and celebrate the festive season.
Streatham Business Improvement District, inStreatham, is organising this year’s Lights On! Streatham event to celebrate Small Business Saturday and the turning on of Streatham’s festive lights. Babington Plaza is the place to be. There will be live entertainment and local choirs between 4pm and 6pm, during which the Christmas Lights will be switched on.
As part of the day, we have been granted a licence by Lambeth Council to run a small festive market alongside a stall serving Mulled Wine and Hot Chocolate (run by the Manor Arms) and a truck stage which will host a number of performances and speeches from 4pm including:
- MC Host
- Recorded music
- A few speeches
- Local Choirs
- Stilt walking
- Face Painting
- Santa’s Grotto (in the Manor Arms) 3pm – 5pm
- Jazz Singer
- VIPs/Dignitaries including Mayor of Lambeth, MP Chuka Umunna and the BID chairman Oliver Osibo.
The event will be run by a team of local volunteers and will be manned by stewards in high visibility vests. We hope you will join us on the Plaza on Saturday 2 December and enjoy the celebrations.
