The BID manages the Streatham Food Festival, now in its 10thyear directly promoting the fantastic Food and Beverage offer of Streatham to our local community and across London.

Streatham is rich with culture.
When InStreatham started back in 2013 Streatham High Road had not been hot jet washed for 11 years meaning our pavements and shop fronts were looking tired and dreary. Since then we’ve carried out ongoing works to improve Streatham’s landscape by delivering annual jet washing initiatives and chewing gum removal.
We hold bi-monthly networking events, free to attend, for businesses who are keen to meet with other like-minded business owners to share and support the local area to trade successfully. Content-based with time for informal networking afterwards these events create opportunities for businesses to upskill and grow.
We've teamed up with the three other South Lambeth BIDs (Brixton, Clapham and Station to Station) to create a local recruitment initiative to match local people with local jobs.
This bespoke service will support businesses by assisting them in the time consuming and costly task of recruitment whilst securing improved staff retention and helping to cut travel costs for potential employees. It is free of charge to all levy paying businesses within the BID areas.
Once a candidate is appointed, the service will continue to monitor progress and feedback with businesses on how the employees settle.
The service also includes information on how to access the government’s Kickstart scheme. This scheme fully funds a young person to work for 25 hours a week for 6 months in your business, if you can offer them a position and training.

We are always looking for new and innovative ways to support a sustainable future for Streatham. Our businesses have been offered access to free Reducing Food Waste workshops and free business recycling to encourage behaviour change and reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
Recently we have also been awarded funding from TfL to launch a Cargo Bike pilot scheme offering businesses access to a cargo Bike free of charge to deliver goods and services to their customers locally aiming to improve air quality by reducing deliveries made by van or car.
We have also teamed up with Plastic Free Streatham and are awarding businesses Plastic Free Status in their quest to reduce the use of single-use plastics in our area.
We regularly run competitions and trails to activate the high street and boost footfall in the area such as the Easter and Christmas trail.
We also promote our businesses in Heart Streatham magazine feature every month as well as advertising on Kapow screens.
We promote Streatham more widely through area destination marketing in London wide and national publications such as Time Out, the Londonist and the Metro. Each publication is part of a campaign, including social media, PR, and more.
We understand that energy can be a significant cost to our levy payers. To help you save time and money we have partnered with Nationwide Utilities, market leaders in business energy. The campaign celebrates famous Streatham residents (Streathamites), such as Peter Davidson, Eddie Izzard and Naomi Campbell, and aims to get people exploring the high street and what it has to offer.
