Russell’s footpath street art: Your Streets Your Way Competition

Russell’s Footpath was selected for a makeover through the Your Streets Your Way competition, where local residents had the opportunity to submit their ideas for enhancing our community spaces. The competition asked local people to reimagine and enhance ten key street locations across Lambeth, with a focus on creating vibrant, pedestrian and cycle-friendly spaces.

We are proud to have been part of the Local Judging Panel for the competition. We reviewed over 70 inspiring submissions from residents aged 6 to 74, with 80% hailing from Lambeth, eager to make a positive impact on their neighbourhood. Benjamin Watts’ winning design stood out for its approach in benefiting both users and local businesses and we are delighted to see it coming to life.

Elements we loved:

  • Wayfinding signage to make it easier for people to discover everything Streatham has to offer.
  • Bright Colours and Iconography, lifting the aesthetic of the concrete stairwell and featuring icons relevant to the amenities and shops on the High Road.

Our involvement in the Your Streets Your Way competition reflects our ongoing commitment to improving Streatham for all.

By supporting projects that enhance our public spaces and shape the future of our streets, Streatham can be a place we all enjoy, attracting more footfall and improving the appeal of our area.
