We are really excited to launch our new campaign to celebrate the reopening of businesses in Streatham and a gradual return to normality. Of course, not all have been able to reopen due to government guidelines but we look forward to seeing these venues open in the near future!
Our absolute priority is keeping your high street businesses open and visitors safe, that’s why we’ve taken great care to put comprehensive social distancing measures in place. As a result, some of your favourite spots may look a little different.
Many of our high street shops are now open again after going into lockdown at the end of March. This is great news for local businesses, who will need your support to survive through this difficult time,
At InStreatham, we have supported your local businesses from lockdown through to reopening and we are here to support them in this new phase of their business journey. We’ve taken great care to prepare the High Road for reopening – posters, stenciled floor signs and vinyls clearly displayed to help shoppers stay safe and maintain social distancing – and a full Back to Work PPE Kit for businesses including sneeze screens, masks, gloves and hand sanitizers. To reduce crowding, we worked with Streatham Action Transport group and Lambeth Council, to install pavement widening measures at busy locations along the High road to allow safe distancing when passing & queuing. Businesses have also taken significant steps in becoming COVID secure.
One of our main priorities as the Streatham Business Improvement District is to ensure that people feel confident about returning to Streatham High Road and Hill to work, shop, eat, study and visit. That’s why we’re launching our Shop Safe Streatham campaign to encourage people back to the high street!
Streatham will be taken over by a cultural explosion of events from September to December, bringing our communities together again after five months of isolation. View events here.
