Streatham Food Festival returns for 2021

Following a challenging 18 months for hospitality, Streatham Food Festival will be giving everyone a good reason to get back out and support their local bars, cafes and restaurants with an extended 10 day festival. The 2021 event will begin on Thursday 1st July and run until Saturday 10th July.

With lockdown restrictions easing slowly, The Streatham Food Tour will be back to showcase Streatham’s growing and diverse food culture.  Food tourists can expect longstanding favourites such as Hood Streatham, Talay Thai, El Chicos and Slurp as well as relative newcomers such as BeWyld, Dilpasand and Nar Turkish Kitchen.

Saturday 3rd July will see the launch of a brand new outdoor seating area on Streatham Green, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy food and drink purchased on the tour.  It will also allow the popular food and drink businesses around the Green, including Brickwood, Dilpasand and Lo Pasta Tradizionale to offer extra seating to their customers.  To celebrate this a small market and a pedal powered music system will be up and running and festival sponsors, Marlowe Estates, will be offering face painting to entertain families.

The virtual food demonstrations which proved popular during last year’s smaller event will return with the likes of London Smoke & Cure, Streatham’s award winning smokery, SW16 Kitchen and BeWyld showcasing delicious dishes to cook at home.

The full programme will be available to download from 15th June at www.streathamfoodfestival.com

We are delighted to fund the Streatham Food Festival alongside this year’s sponsor, Marlowe Estates.

Oli Osibo, InStreatham BID Chair, says “Following what has been a tough year for many of Streatham’s businesses, we are looking forward to highlighting everything and everyone that makes our high street so special and giving people the perfect excuse to get back out and savour the fantastic food we have on offer.“

Billy Farrant, branch manager at Marlowe Estates, added “We’re delighted to be supporting the Streatham Food Festival this year.  Our local community is really important to us and this event supports local businesses and brings people together too.”
