Streatham Vision
Our Vision is to have a thriving, prosperous and sustainable Streatham. A vision for change driven by confidence, belief and a real passion for Streatham.
We deliver our projects under three main themes: Destination Streatham, Shop Streatham and Celebrate Streatham. This vision is the result of extensive engagement and policy process with our Board of 15 committed volunteers.
Shop Streatham
‘Shop Streatham’ will work to attract and support new businesses and start-ups.
We engage with landlords and leaseholders to improve the retail environment and increase retail diversity, work with start-ups, support new businesses and encourage businesses that meet the needs of Streatham residents. The rise of co-working is a trend that could establish Streatham for Start-ups through creating co-working hubs.
We work towards creating an environment and amenities that encourages more local people to visit the Village; to spend more time in it and visit more businesses. We listen to local needs and will capture demographic data to analyse who goes where to shop and why.
We have recently launched a market on Streatham Green as part of our mission to ‘Reclaim the Green’.

Destination Streatham
‘Destination Streatham’ will promote Streatham as a destination across London. We focus on marketing Streatham to generate buzz, excitement and positive media attention, taking ‘Destination Streatham’ Pan-London and across Greater London to attract even more visitors, businesses and shoppers to our vibrant town.
We are currently working to support ‘Streatham Village’ regeneration including painting above shop fronts to enhance the historic architectural features, stylish way-finding and signage designed by local artists. We want to help and incentivise businesses to look better, trade in better ways and to keep shop fronts clean.

Celebrate Streatham
“Celebrate Streatham” will promote Streatham’s rich heritage, green spaces, schools and architecture, with the aim of positively influencing people’s perceptions of the area as showcased on our street banners.
Increasing the number of cultural and creative events, providing investment and support and working with partners and local groups to increase entertainment, arts and theatre within the area.
We continue to work with Lambeth, TfL and the police to creating safer and cleaner roads, including lobbying TfL for improved bus provision East to West to encourage local shoppers from neighbouring areas such as Balham and Norwood.
Our Smarter, Greener, Cleaner campaign means that we continue with business recycling services and cleaning services with First Mile. We also consult on public realm improvements to help create cleaner and greener spaces, as well as dealing with rat running traffic. The completed central reservation works make both sides of the street more accessible to shoppers.
