The inStreatham business improvement district (BID) is an organisation made up of all the businesses on the High Road. It is dedicated to making the the Town Centre a lovely, safe and attractive place for people who live here, shoppers who come here to visit and people who work here.
All of the businesses within the BID area have overwhelmingly voted to pay an extra 1.5% of their rateable value of their premises into a pot which the BID Board then spends on projects to improve the BID area.
Our goals are to attract 20% more people to visit the town centre, 20% more money will be spent here, 20% more visitors will say they think Streatham is a good or very good place to visit, 20% fewer reported commercial crimes will take place in our town centre and 20% savings will be made on the costs of at least two key services for BID members. We have a fully-costed work programme to deliver this over the five year life of the BID.
We are aiming our efforts to serve three groups of people: businesses in the BID area, local people who normally shop elsewhere, and people from outside the area who wouldn’t necessarily think of Streatham as a place to come and visit or shop.
