Since the launch of our programme, we’re proud to report significant improvements in our efforts to create a safer environment for Streatham businesses – one notable achievement is the successful prosecution of a prolific shoplifter. We took proactive steps to address the persistent issues of shoplifting and anti-social behavior back in 2022, understanding the urgency, the BID collaborated a private investigation company.
As shoplifting rates continue to rise across the country, this story stands as a source of optimism. Through the diligent work with our partners and store managers, this individual, with over a hundred previous convictions, including numerous burglaries, was brought to justice—a feat that underscores the effectiveness of our collaborative approach.
